Hi, I am the person who does the Skirt Converts! I would like to talk a little bit about why I make them.  I am 12 years old and want to promote modesty for all girls and women in the world!

I think girls and women should show respect for their bodies because we are made in God’s image and, being female, we should do all we can to protect our dignity as girls and women.  One way we can do this is to dress in a manner that allows our inner beauty to shine through!

Let me ask you a question, what do you think when a boy/man looks at you when you are not dressing modestly?  Do you think he is looking at your face and what a nice girl you are?  Do you think he is seeing all your gifts and talents?  Now when I say looking at your face I mean your eyes, and you might say, “Why should he look at my eyes?”.  Because that is where your soul shines through, that is where he will see the real you!
 

So when you do not dress modestly he is not looking at any thing I talked about.  What he IS doing is completing the picture which means that he is imagining how you would look with even less clothes on.  When you do that you cause yourself and all those boys/men that look at you to sin.
You may wonder how I know so much about how boys/men think.  Well because my dad told me.  You see when you are at work or at school or any place and a boy sees you and you are not dressed modestly it makes it hard for them to concentrate on what they are doing.

I just want to share one story with you.  I was at the gas station with my mom and as I came out of the store and went into the car a young girl pulled up for gas.  She was about 18 and she was dressed very immodestly.  She had tight jeans, a shirt that showed her pierced belly button and the top of her breasts and when she bent down you could see inside her shirt.  Well when she went inside to get something there was a man inside getting something too and as he came out he looked back at her.  He just couldn’t stop staring at her; he was very distracted.  What do you think was on his mind?

There are so many other times that situations like this have happened and I just thought I would share that with you. 

Anyway, that is why I am making the skirts; to bring modesty into the world and to help girls to show that they respect their bodies. When we show respect for ourselves, others will respect us too!
